6 credit points Postgraduate subject in Master of Internet Technology (MIT) Program. Topics covered include engineering a web site, Internet embedded devices, agent technology, web centric applications, multimedia & streaming technologies.

Introduction to Information and Communication Technology (IACT101)

6 credit points undergraduate subject covering computer hardware, computer software, Internet and connectivity and people

Electrical Engineering 1 (ECTE101)

6 credit points undergraduate subject covering basic basic analog circuits and their analysis, electronic devices, power and energy, and introduction to telecommunication technology.

Design and Management 1 (ECTE195) Laboratory

The laboratory component of this subject included hands-on activities as well as a group project on the global topic of Internet tools and resources.

Advance Laboratory (ECTE955)

6 credit points postgraduate subject allowing students to gain hands-on experiences in digital computer laboratory.

Digital Hardware 1 (ECTE233) Laboratory

This laboratory class introduces assembly language and the use of microcontroller (Intel 8096) applications.

Multimedia & Real Time Streaming Technology

This subject introduces multimedia applications in entertainment, business and education, equipment used in developing and delivering multimedia modules, usage of text, graphics, sound, animation and video in multimedia applications, authoring and developing multimedia applications (CD vs Internet production), Real Time Streaming Technologies & available packages, encoding tools (on-demand and live broadcasting), bandwidth management, Synchronised Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL), and players, plug-ins and browsers issues.

Smart Education: Web/Internet Enabled Education

This short course introduces two new and emerging Web/Internet technologies that have shown significant potential to enhance lecture-based on-campus education. These technologies allow creation and delivery of educational resources with minimum hardware, software and bandwidth requirements: (1) Dynamic and interactive Web-based learning environments using available packages such as WebCT and (2)Enhancing Web-based learning environments using affordable multimedia technologies such as streaming of media files to student’s computer via low bandwidth modem connections.

Teaching With The Web (WWW101 & WebCT101)

5-week online course introducing new educational delivery technologies in educational setting along with technology-enhanced on-campus education. About 75 University of Wollongong academic staff attented the course.
